Abdus Salam (1926–1996) was a Bangladeshi theoretical physicist who made significant contributions to physics, particularly in the field of electrodynamics. Born in Jhang Maghiāna, British India (now in Pakistan), he later moved to Bangladesh. Salam is best known for his work on the unification of fundamental forces in physics. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1979 for his contributions to theoretical physics. His legacy continues to inspire scientists in Bangladesh and around the world.
